Join us as a Product Manager to join the payments team overseeing the delivery, management, and governance of platforms that connect clients to required products This role offers the opportunity to design, build, and manage products end-to-end, generating sustainable returns by helping clients achieve their business goals effectively. The successful candidate preferably has a payments experience and will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of payment services to merchants. There will be collaboration with Sales, Coverage, Servicing, Technology, Governance, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless product development and operations, effectively manage technical change pipelines, and coordinate with key stakeholders.

Experience & Knowledge:

Understanding of /Barclaycard Payments/Product business.Broad understanding of Payments business and the clients it serves.Understanding of the risk and control environment.

Skills and competencies:

The ability and willingness to take ownership, define change and demonstrate a track record of delivery.Excellent communication, collaboration and influencing ability, effective in client discussion and in teams and in individual relationships spanning various infrastructure areas like Sales, Legal, Compliance, Technology and Operations.Structured approach to delivery and documentation, including working to deadlines.Ability to analyse data, trends and insights.Excellent level of presentation skills.Commercial effectiveness and client focus/ Passionate about client & customer experience.Self-insight and an appetite for personal development.Product experience preferred but not essential.

This role is based in Northampton.

Purpose of the role

To manage a specific product or portfolio and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage product development risk across the organisation.

Accountabilities

Development of strategic direction for a specific product or portfolio, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.Management of a specific product or portfolio, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness. Relationship management of specific product or portfolio stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services.Development and implementation of policies and procedures for the specific product or portfolio.Management of specific product or portfolio risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the banks specific product or portfolio and compliance functions. Monitoring the financial performance of the specific product or portfolio, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
