Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Mandatory Apprenticeship & Certification: A critical requirement for this role is the completion of a "time-served" apprenticeship that meets the Level 3 criteria, supported by demonstrable practical experience. You must be able to provide evidence of your NVQ Level 3 certification and your apprenticeship.
  • Technical Proficiency: Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding and practical ability in:
    • Programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using Mitutoyo software.
    • Programming 3D structured light systems (GOM ScanBox) and analyzing data with Polyworks IMInspect.
    • Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, including casting, machining, and tooling, with a solid grasp of geometric and dimensional tolerancing (ASME & ISO Standards).
    • Performing in-depth calculations, including trigonometry and compound angles, often using a calculator.
    • Utilizing first principles measurement techniques with a range of precision instruments (sine tables, height gauges, sine bars, slip gauges, micrometers, verniers).
  • Shift Work: The role operates on a 2-shift rotation. Candidates must be able to commit to the specified weekly schedule:
    • Shift 1: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Friday, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Shift 2: Monday – Thursday, 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM, Friday, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Quality & Precision Focus: A rigorous approach to quality assurance, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to maintain exacting inspection standards are paramount. The role requires adherence to quality disciplines and accurate record-keeping.
