This position offers a compelling blend of responsibility and diversity, focusing on the professional handling of a portfolio of Property and Engineering claims underwritten within the UK Wholesale and Retail markets. You will be instrumental in managing claims across these two key disciplines, with a particular emphasis on International Programme Property losses. Furthermore, you'll provide crucial support to the existing claims expert for wholesale Engineering & Construction business.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to operate effectively as both a Lead and a Co-insurer. Candidates will need to demonstrate proficiency in technical coverage evaluation and exposure analysis, coupled with the ability to influence market stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes. The team's overarching objective is to ensure proactive investigation and evaluation, fair and timely resolution, and the delivery of exceptional customer service, all in alignment with the Corporate Solutions Claims Commitment.

Key Responsibilities for Career Growth:

  • End-to-End Claims Management: Handle a varied portfolio of claims from initial notification to settlement. This includes thorough coverage review, in-depth fact investigation, precise loss evaluation, and the strategic design and execution of appropriate claim resolution strategies, all within defined technical authority.
  • Expert Leadership & Cost Management: Proactively select, direct, and manage external experts and vendors. A crucial element will be working collaboratively with these parties to establish appropriate budgets and ensure effective cost management, showcasing valuable leadership and financial acumen.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting to internal stakeholders, demonstrating strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Deliver insightful and practical claims expertise to internal collaborators, including underwriters, sales teams, and risk engineers. This fosters a collaborative environment and highlights your ability to bridge different business functions.
  • Risk and Loss Monitoring: Keep Claim Management informed of potential loss impacts and significant claim developments, adhering to established Claim Handling Expectations and Standard Operating Procedures. This underlines the importance of diligent oversight and risk awareness.

  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Claims or the broader Insurance Industry, specifically within the primary insurance market.

  • Technical Claims Proficiency: Solid skills in coverage analysis, investigation, loss evaluation, and claim valuation.
  • Digital Fluency: Strong computer proficiency, including mastery of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook, and a demonstrated ability to leverage digital tools, data platforms, and AI-enhanced systems for research and investigation.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Experience with data visualization tools and the capability to present compelling data-driven insights to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Insurance Domain Knowledge: A solid understanding of underwriting principles and other insurance functions.
