Salary: £54,952 - £64,738 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance anda range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

We are looking for aReal Time Systems Field Engineer to join our team!

As a Real Time Systems Field, Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and fault rectification of SCADA & Teleprotection equipment deployed at SSEN substations, hilltop radio sites and communication rooms.

You will:

Day to day maintenance and fault rectification of RTS equipment, Local & Wide Area Networks. Support installation, setup, and commissioning of SCADA systems. Support the Operational Technology & RTS Design & Delivery teams with the supervision and installation of new projects and technology. Participation in an emergency standby support rota will also be required.

You have:

A good understanding of one or more of the following systems: Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), including Schneider, ABB, and ZIF. Proven experience in deploying IP-connected devices, including UHF scanning radio, TSAT satellite communications, fibre optic and copper cable networks, teleprotection systems, automation schemes, and LV DC wiring systems. Ideally, you will have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent training in telecommunications, IT, electrical, or electronic engineering. Excellent communication skills, with a proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Open to innovation, collaborative by nature, and capable of managing your own workload while also working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

The role will be field based, and will require regular travel to substations, sites, supplier locations and other SSE offices, a full current driving license is essential.
