Embark on a Leading Cyber Security Role in Europe: CERT Manager Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned cyber security professional to step into a pivotal leadership role as the CERT Manager for Europe. Based across Kingston and Port Sunlight, this position offers a dynamic blend of strategic oversight and hands-on engagement within a critical cyber security operations function. If you're driven by technical excellence, possess a strong leadership aptitude, and are passionate about safeguarding an organization's digital landscape, this role presents a significant step forward in your career.

Key Advantages for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Strategic Impact: As CERT Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the incident management strategy for the European region. This involves not only leading the team but also driving continuous improvement through the meticulous tracking of KPIs and metrics. Your efforts will directly contribute to operational excellence and resilience.
  • Hands-On Technical Leadership: The role demands a balance between strategic thinking and practical application. You will be expected to guide your team on effective incident management techniques, leveraging your deep understanding of Security Operations Centre (SOC) technologies like SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOAR. This is a chance to remain technically relevant while operating at a managerial level.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and business continuity teams, as well as external specialists during major incidents. This fosters a comprehensive understanding of cyber security's impact across the entire business.
  • Team Development and Mentorship: This position emphasizes strong leadership and coaching capabilities. You will be responsible for nurturing and developing your team, empowering them to excel in their roles. A key aspect is your ability to translate complex cyber security matters into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Exposure to Cutting-Edge Technologies: You will be at the forefront of SOC capability projects, actively contributing to the integration of advanced technologies and use-cases. This role provides a platform to stay abreast of and utilize the latest advancements in cyber security monitoring and incident response.
  • Flexible Working and Inclusivity: The organization is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. They are open to discussing flexible working arrangements, aiming to create possibilities for all employees and promoting a healthy work-life balance. Diversity is celebrated, with a commitment to equal opportunities and reasonable adjustments throughout the application process.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Deep Techno-Managerial Expertise Required: The core of this role lies in your rich techno-managerial experience in cyber security operations. Candidates are expected to bring a substantial background in incident management, both strategically and operationally.
  • Mandatory Skillset and Experience: A strong foundation in SOC technologies (SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR), malware analysis, forensics, and network security is essential. You'll need a minimum of 8 years of enterprise experience in a global SOC, with at least 3 years in people management. Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, or PowerShell) and familiarity with incident response frameworks like NIST 800-61 or ISO 27035 are also critical.
  • Certifications Matter: Possessing GIAC certifications (GCFE, GCFA, GREM, GNFA, GCIA, GMON) or cloud security certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP) will significantly strengthen your application, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and recognized expertise.
  • Relocation and Self-Funding: For candidates applying from outside the UK, it's important to note that this role is a self-initiated Change Location Outside of Country (CLOC) transfer. This means relocation costs will generally be self-funded, with potential reimbursement for specific pre-approved expenses up to £5,000. Open communication with your Talent Partner is encouraged to clarify any details.
  • Application Process: Please ensure your application is submitted through the designated portal. Email applications may not be processed. Including your Future Fit Plan, if possible, can further enhance your submission. It is also a requirement to inform your Line Manager of your application and confirm that you are at an appropriate stage in your career for this move.

This CERT Manager role is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to lead, innovate, and make a tangible difference in the cyber security posture of a major organization. If you possess the requisite skills and are seeking a challenging and rewarding leadership position, we encourage you to explore this exciting prospect.
