Embark on a rewarding career journey within a leading global financial institution. This opportunity places you at the core of Citi's mission to empower client growth and economic progress through trusted financial services.

Team Overview:

You will be joining the EMEA Regulatory Operations CASS team, a pivotal group responsible for critical Client Asset (CASS) processes. This includes vital functions such as Client Money Calculations, Client Money Diversification, CMAR, MCAR, CASS RP, oversight of 10-day+ break management, and Prudent Segregation calculations and oversight. The team serves as a central hub for CASS-related inquiries within Operations & Technology, fostering transparency and facilitating escalation. They also lead the monthly CASS O&T Client Asset Forum and actively participate in business-aligned CASS Client Asset Forums.

Role Overview:

This junior position within the CASS Regulatory Operations team, based in Belfast Operations, offers a comprehensive introduction to CASS responsibilities. Key duties encompass client money calculation and oversight, CMAR and MCAR collation and submission to the FCA and Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) respectively, and PS14/9 activities involving Prudent Segregation, Break Management, and Shortfalls. A significant aspect of this role involves collaboration with Change Partners to identify automation opportunities, contribute to Business Requirements, perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and update procedures in response to ongoing change initiatives. The team is actively enhancing CASS governance within Operations & Technology, working closely with O&T managers and the Client Asset and Depositor Protection Office.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities & Career Development):

  • Execute Core CASS Processes: Process daily client money and shortfall calculations, liaising with stakeholders, business lines, control groups, and client asset oversight teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Input daily payments to adjust records in alignment with calculations.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Collate and complete monthly Client Money Asset Returns (CMAR & MCAR) at a business level, providing detailed walkthroughs to key sponsors before submitting consolidated figures to the FCA and CBI.
  • Data & MIS Management: Accurately and promptly collate and distribute key Management Information Systems (MIS) reports for all relevant CASS processes.
  • Control & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all control and compliance requirements, updating procedures as necessary.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance existing regulatory reporting processes and controls. Support the Change Team and Technology by contributing to the delivery of technology solutions for manual processes and assisting with UAT.
  • Project Engagement: Participate in ad-hoc projects as required, gaining exposure to diverse initiatives.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and products, markets, and processes. This role offers a clear path to becoming a CASS Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Senior Exposure: Gain visibility and interact with senior management groups across Operations.
  • Skill Enhancement: Hone essential communication, organizational, and technological proficiency within your department.
  • Team Collaboration & Goal Achievement: Work collaboratively to meet group targets and interact with a broad range of individuals to achieve shared objectives.

What We're Looking For (Advantages for Candidates):

  • Experience in Financial Operations: Prior experience in Securities & Banking Operations, or a Control or Regulatory/Compliance function, with strong product knowledge and an understanding of systems and product flows is highly advantageous. While knowledge of CASS rules and regulations is a plus, it's not a prerequisite, indicating a strong training and development pathway.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A demonstrated ability to be a team player, working effectively with colleagues at all levels to achieve value-added results.
  • Relationship Building: The capacity to build productive working relationships across different Operations teams.
  • Performance Under Pressure: The ability to consistently deliver high-quality work even when operating under pressure. An understanding of the front-to-back technology used in daily processes is beneficial.
  • Drive and Ambition: Self-motivation, flexibility, and a strong desire to succeed are key indicators of a candidate poised for a recognized and rewarded career.
  • Eagerness to Learn: A genuine willingness to learn and develop within a supportive team environment.
  • Effective Communication: Good communication skills are essential for clear and concise interaction.
