This post is for a research assistant to work part time of on a commissioned service evaluation focused on the Roald Dahl Children with Medical Complexity Nurse Specialist role.
This is a national evaluation involving online survey administration with professionals and parents and interviews with children, parents and professionals. This project involves the recruitment and collection of data through interviews and surveys as well as analysing the mainly text-based data with support from the project leads.
You will be a key member of the team and will have core responsibility for co-ordinating the data collection, collecting information from children, young people, parent/carers and health professionals. You will also have responsibility for data entry, data analysis and drafting reports and assist in consultation activities with parents and Roald Dahl nurses.

As Research Assistant, you will have:
• Experience of undertaking research with children and young people and within a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of the principles of ethical conduct in research and in particular those ethical issues that specifically pertain to working with children and their parents.
• Experience in designing and executing research using qualitative methods
• Advanced user experience of appropriate software for data analysis e.g. Microsoft Office
• The ability to work within ethical guidelines and maintain high levels of research integrity at all times, including the management of research data
