About the role

The project entitled "Trigate" is about optimisation of electrochemical electrode processes involving gases (oxygen reduction, nitrogen reduction, carbon dioxide reduction) in a biomimetic way employing microporous materials. The research assistant role will involve:

driving experimental research activities in electrocatalytic processes with electrode design, product analysis, and mechanistic studiesliaising with collaborators (in academia and in industry) and reporting to specialist and non-specialist audiences (conferences, outreach)writing professional reports and publications including data analysis and preparation of graphical materialscontributing to guiding project students and/or minor teaching challenges

About you

The research associate role will require:

a PhD (or equivalent) in materials chemistry, electrochemistry or closely allied field (some electrochemistry knowledge is essential)evidence for ability to perform independent research (planning and executing experiments, data analysis, data interpretation)evidence for ability to write professional publicationsevidence for ability to communicate and present research to specialist and non-specialist audiences

This is a full time (36.5) position offered on a fixed term basis from April 2026 for 2 years.
