This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Research Fellow to contribute to a significant international research project focused on the evolving dynamics of sexuality in post-Soviet Muslim Republics.

Project Overview:

The project, titled ‘Transitions: Examining changing regimes of sexuality in post-Soviet Muslim Republics,’ is funded by the AHRC-DFG and brings together an interdisciplinary team from the Universities of Leeds and Regensburg, along with regional research partners. The core focus is on examining the cultural and political shifts within Muslim-majority countries in the Caucasus and Central Asia, with Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan serving as principal case studies. This collaborative effort spans disciplines such as Cultural Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Art History, Literary Studies, Media Studies, History, and International Relations.
