The project, titled ‘Transitions: Examining changing regimes of sexuality in post-Soviet Muslim Republics,’ is funded by the AHRC-DFG and brings together an interdisciplinary team from the Universities of Leeds and Regensburg, along with regional research partners. The core focus is on examining the cultural and political shifts within Muslim-majority countries in the Caucasus and Central Asia, with Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan serving as principal case studies.
