The School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Brighton is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to contribute to an exciting, Sussex Cancer Fund-funded project exploring sensory abilities and their relationship to cancer-related and exercise-induced fatigue.

This is a part-time fixed-term role for 9 months, ideal for someone with a background in psychology, physiology, health sciences or a related field, looking to expand their applied research experience—particularly within a clinical population, where you will have an opportunity to work on a project with direct clinical and societal impact.

About the Role

You will play a key role in achieving the research project’s objectives by leading on participant recruitment and coordinating laboratory visits and preparing equipment and supporting the smooth running of testing sessions.

Part of your role will be collecting data using a range of sensory, physiological and psychological assessments (including interoceptive/proprioceptive tasks, handgrip exercise, and questionnaires on fatigue, sleep and physical activity). You will then conduct initial data processing and analysis. This role supports wider research activities and collaboration within the Sussex Cancer Research Centre Fatigue Interest Group.
