  • Location: The internship will be based at the location specified in the job title. If you receive a return offer to the graduate programme, your location will remain the same.
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must possess the legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from June 2026 to August 2026. Please note that sponsorship is not available for this internship or the subsequent 2027 Graduate Programme. Applicants will require the legal right to work full-time for the duration of the Graduate Programme (August 2027 to August 2029) without sponsorship.

This internship provides a platform to contribute to the day-to-day activities of the retail banking division. You will gain exposure to informing senior colleagues' decisions, assisting in the development of new products and services, and identifying new market opportunities. Your accountabilities will include:

  • Executing research projects and preparing presentations and reports.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior management on business initiatives and research findings.
  • Participating in training and development programs.
  • Contributing to the identification of opportunities and the development of business cases for new products and services.
  • Supporting client relationships and customer service efforts, including responding to inquiries and resolving complaints.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of financial models and strategies.
  • Potentially mentoring junior colleagues.

As an analyst, you will be expected to perform your activities to a high standard, driving continuous improvement. You will develop in-depth technical knowledge within your assigned area and gain a thorough understanding of underlying principles. You will have an impact on the work of related teams and partner with other functions. Taking responsibility for operational processing and activities, escalating policy breaches, and embedding new procedures are key aspects of the role. You will advise and influence decision-making, take ownership of risk management, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Maintaining and building your understanding of Barclays' products, services, and processes will be crucial, as will demonstrating how your work contributes to organizational objectives. You will make evaluative judgments based on factual analysis, resolve problems using acquired experience, and effectively communicate complex information. You will also act as a contact point for external stakeholders and build a network beyond your immediate team.
