Job Description SSNA Support Integration (IPS) Technical Lead - Submarines Full Time Derby We have an exciting opportunity for an SSNA Support Integration (IPS) Technical Lead to join our Integrated Product Support department in Derby. We are looking for an engineer with experience of managing technical projects to take on the role of providing strategic support and direction towards ensuring that our next generation fleet of SSN submarines has a support solution that enables high levels of SSN availability. The scope of the role covers overseeing and coordinating work to influence SSNA design, optimise maintenance, enable spaces/technical publications/support equipment to name a few. Responsibilities include identifying and technically managing projects & strategies that will enable Rolls-Royce Submarines to deliver SSNA platforms that are highly supportable. This is an exciting and demanding role, which will cover the nuclear plant and associated support equipment across the full CADMID lifecycle, enabling the platform to meet current and future requirements. You will be responsible for technically managing high impact workstreams covering many aspects of supportability, including, but not limited to: influencing the design & spatial arrangement; setting, identifying and optimising maintenance; enabling optimal spares; and enabling the readiness of support equipment/technical publications/data driven feedback all through a wider engineering network of resource. You will be required to interact with the customers and other industry partners (including Babcock, BAE Systems and the MoD) as well as internal stakeholders at varying levels of seniority. What you will be doing: Identifying, agreeing and coordinating the programs of work to enable a great support solution for SSNA NSRP Acting as the technical customer for the delivery of work packages using a wide network of internal and external resources. Ensuring they satisfy technical requirements within time and cost constraints. You will provide programme and technical leadership and comply with the Engineering function's policies throughout the lifecycle of your work packages You will communicate the plan and budget for delivering the work. Providing technical leadership and support to your peers within the department You will ensure programmes of work are managed within the prescribed technical programme management and quality management processes. You will strategically consider what a great SSNA support solution should be and enable it via the launch of work packages. Position Qualifications: Technical degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or Submarine NSRP operator experience at cat B or above. Experience delivering and/or integrating NSRP work packages Strong technical knowledge in engineering design methodologies and an understanding of and ability to integrate cross-discipline engineering concepts including mechanical or electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, service engineering, cost engineering, product definition & platform operation. You will have an understanding of engineering and programme management processes and controls including setting requirements, planning, controlling risk and driving schedules forward. Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
