Role Overview The Salesperson is a producing member of the UK Banks, Central Banks & CEEMEA FX FI Sales team, who will focus on managing a portfolio of relationship with Banks transacting out of the UK. The overall objective of this role is to act as strategic advisor to our clients, to market and present the full range of FX products and services that Citi has to offer to broad number of different Buying Centres that characterise the Bank Client Segment. The successful candidate will advise clients on trading strategies, hedging foreign exchange exposure at Trading Desk level, but also with a Strategic Balance Sheet Asset Liability management angle, providing Global Macro insights, thought leadership and structured hedging solutions. Together with our partners in Banking, Sales, Trading, business, and functional partners, they will help lead our effort to be the industry leading coverage team and trusted advisor to our most important Bank segment clients. The successful candidate will be expected to protect our clients and the franchise through a relentless commitment to control and governance built on the highest standard of personal ethics and responsibility What you’ll do Actively cover a portfolio of Banks and Central Bank clients (and back up clients covered by the desk when needed) Work closely and form strong relationships with their desk, global coverage partners, across product and trading Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients at multiple levels of the organization Coordinate thought leadership resources for the desk Implementation the broader strategy for the Banks client segment Communicate regularly on all aspects of the business results, market themes, successes, issues to desk head, global coverage partners and any other relevant stakeholders Developing and mentoring junior talent Staying on top of the regulatory and industry changes and competitive landscape Adhere to and cascade all FXLM supervisory training and tools to assist in creating a culture of responsibility to our clients, our shareholders and each other What we’ll need from you Experience in the Foreign Exchange Industry Strong communication Skills Extensive knowledge of front to back office processes Exceptionally strong derivatives knowledge and experience Proven product and solutions skills Ability to work effectively with various managers, stakeholders and product and functional partners Extensive knowledge of Banks client segment, UK Banks Relationships and Proven track record of successful FX client coverage are strong differentiating factor Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime. The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016. Under the Certification Regime, Citi UK regulated entities (Citi entities) must ensure that employees working in certain roles categorised as specified significant harm functions (Certified Roles) are assessed as fit and proper to carry out their role. Under the guidance provided by the FCA and PRA, firms should have regard to the following when assessing fitness and propriety: • Honesty, integrity and reputation • Financial soundness • Competence and capability In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above. This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
