You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.One security officer will be stationed at reception, with the other patrolling the library at all times:Reception: Controlling access to the DHL to authorised students and visitors by being stationed at the reception desk.Roving: inside the library and dealing with incidents as they arise (logging incidents where appropriate)What youll do:Ensuing the safety of the building and its occupants.Locking-up procedures at library closure including emptying the building.Escalating incidents and reporting where appropriate (normal security procedure).Reinforcing library rules where appropriate in a professional, yet polite, and friendly manner.Responding to simple questions from students and visitors (such as ‘where are the toilets? or ‘where is the silent study zone? For example).Give the campuses of the University of Greenwich a security service that is customer-focused.Comply with Company, client and statutory regulations relating to Health and Safety, fire hygiene, COSHH and safe systems of work.To liaisewith Sodexo and Client personnel as required and directed to guarantee the delivery of an effectiveand efficient service.Provide a first point of call for visitors and contractors to the site.Issue visitor/contractor badges whilst maintaining a record of those who enter and leave the main buildings.Answer questions, report incidents, and handle emergencies with employees, students, visitors, and contractorsOpen and secure the premises including the enabling and disabling of security alarms as detailed in the Assignment InstructionsPatrolling, securing, and monitoring premises for any signs of unlawful/unwanted activityMonitor CCTV screens and take appropriate action as requiredWhat you bring:SIA Licence holder (Door supervisor and CCTV)1 - 3years experience within the security industryHave a sound knowledge of the Quality Management Systems (Security)Able to use computerised systems in operation within the security sectorGood understanding of the CCTV, fire and security systemsExcellent communication skills.Able to work on own initiative, individually and as part of a teamKnowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection issuesAble to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standardsAll employees are expected to adhere to Sodexo health and safety regulations and Equal opportunity regulations.To be able to write accurate, legible operational logs, security reports and statements.What we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; its a chance to be part of something greater.
