About the Opportunity

This role offers a significant opportunity to lead and deliver critical CS&A engineering requirements for large, complex, or multiple medium-sized projects. As the technical authority for your discipline, you will either work independently or lead a team, playing a pivotal role in project success. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities & Infrastructure Design and based at our Springfields Fuel Site, this position is integral to our ongoing mission of innovation.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Leadership and Technical Ownership: Take charge as the single point of accountability for CS&A engineering, driving technical excellence and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.
  • Mentorship and Development: Contribute to the growth of junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Impactful Projects: Work on projects that are at the cutting edge of nuclear energy technology, offering the chance to make a tangible impact on the industry.

  • Continuous Learning: Westinghouse is committed to your professional growth, offering learning and development opportunities to keep your skills sharp in a rapidly evolving field.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy a package designed for your well-being and security, including attractive remuneration, life insurance, a pension plan, and an Employee Assistance Program for confidential support.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Technical Depth Required: This role demands a strong foundation in CS&A design principles, with particular emphasis on seismic, blast, and impact load design. Experience in highly regulated industries, especially nuclear, is a significant advantage.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading teams and managing project deliverables will be essential for success.
  • Regulatory Compliance: A thorough understanding of applicable standards, regulations, codes, and directives is crucial, particularly in relation to CDM compliance and designer responsibilities.
  • Documentation and Quality Assurance: You will be responsible for producing and approving high-quality technical documentation, ensuring compliance and design integrity.
  • Project Management Skills: The ability to deliver work within defined scope, time, and budget, coupled with effective issue resolution and change control, is paramount.
  • Chartered Status: Chartered Membership of the ICE is a key requirement, underscoring the expectation for a high level of professional engineering competence.
