About Team: The successful candidate will join the STMJ Data & Analytics team and report in a dotted line to the Journal Configuration team. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to enhance our data-driven decision-making processes and streamline the configuration management of our extensive journal portfolio. The Data Engineering team supports this mission by building and maintaining a comprehensive data platform that underpins all of Elsevier data flows and products. About Role: We are seeking a curious, meticulous, and innovative Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. The objective of the role is to ensure consistency, trust, and business impact in our analytics by establishing definitive business definitions for our data. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to agree on a robust data catalog/glossary solution to capture and maintain those definitions. Key Responsibilities: Analysing journal configuration and identifying opportunities for harmonization and simplification. Partnering with the Journal Configuration Governance team to prioritize changes for over 2,500 journals. Developing metrics and KPIs to assess the impact of configuration changes on journal performance and author experience. Collaborating with business stakeholders and analysts to establish comprehensive business definitions. Facilitating workshops and discussions to gather input and validate definitions, driving teams to consensus. Documenting and maintaining a centralized repository of agreed-upon definitions for easy access and reference. Requirements: Passion for working with data and solving real business problems through analytics. Proven experience in a similar analytical or technical role (business analysis, data analytics, data engineering, or analytics engineering). Identify relevant analyses and metrics for business insights. Steer the business based on an understanding of customers, markets, and trends. Understand complex data structures and apply advanced preparation techniques. Promote data-driven decision-making by identifying opportunities and suggesting solutions. Lead and manage small analytics projects, managing multiple tasks and resolving blockers in a timely manner. Advanced knowledge of project management approaches and lifecycles. Strong coordination, pragmatism, and resolution management skills. Excellent communication skills to engage with business users and end-users at all levels. Experience and skill in SQL and/or Python coding are required. Training can be provided for DBT and Snowflake. Experience in using or implementing a semantic layer is a plus.
