Senior Lead Java Developer

About the Role:We are seeking a Senior Java Developer/Lead who could drive technology transformation in the team. This role involves taking ownership of key projects and components throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). A primary focus will be on design, development & maintenance of components under Price Master Central systems which would require expertise in Java, Spring, SQL, API development, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Cloud technologies. You will guide & mentor team of engineers, providing technical expertise and direction, and ensure adherence to best practices. A strong understanding of system and enterprise architecture is essential. You will collaborate with global and diverse teams, including Business Analysts, Project Management, Production Support, and Infrastructure.

Price Master Central is a global reference data management application - responsible for sourcing Securities & Pricing data from market vendors and internal Citi sources and providing it to downstream clients after applying client specific rules.

Responsibilities:

Deliver assigned development projects within agreed schedule, quality and scope expectationsParticipate in all stages of the SDLC within an agile Scrum environmentForm partnership with technology vendors and gain deep understanding of productsEnhance/Re-architect existing components to satisfy new requirements in terms of performance and scalabilityProvide level 3 (escalation) support for the application

Skills& Qualifications:

6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis roleExtensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applicationsExperience in managing and implementing successful projectsSubject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications DevelopmentAbility to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictateDemonstrated leadership and project management skillsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationStrong command on Java (Core, JDBC, MT, Collections, I/O), Spring Boot, REST, GraphQL web servicesSound understanding of SQL/PL-SQL on Oracle DBExtensive working knowledge on container platform based on Kubernetes, Kafka, RedisExperience with Unix commands, shell scripting.Strong understanding of Design patterns and Architectural principlesFamiliarity with standard data structures and algorithms.Experience using the following tools – JIRA, Harness/uDeploy, Sonarqube, TeamCity, Artifactory, Git (GHE & Bitbucket)Logical thinking, strong analytical and problem-solving skills; innovative and solutions orientedEffective time management skills to manage multiple priorities with flexibility on time zones and timelinesExcellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Masters degree or PHD in relevant field is desirableExperience working with the Scrum methodologyExperience designing and implementing microservicesFinancial services technology experience preferably in reference data domainPhysical and logical data modeling

Education:

Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMasters degree preferred
