An exciting opportunity is available to join the supportive and collaborative Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) Lending & Working Capital (L&WC), Chief Controls Office. Together we drive the Chief Controls Office vision and strategic priorities for L&WC. Transformation and risk management is key for the delivery of BCB strategy in order to grow our business through co-ordinated product propositions and improving BCB client insight, digitisation, innovation, and the control environment. Reporting to the Head of L&WC Chief Controls Office, you'll directly lead two Control specialists, undertake and support a range of Control management processes and systems, interpret a range of data, managing the efficient and effective production of high-quality analysis, anticipating stakeholder needs. As part of the Chief Controls Office, you'll lead on Control engagement with the Product specialists to deliver strong outcomes for the breadth of clients in the L&WC portfolio, to ensure that existing plus new propositions and transformation are delivered safely, with Consumer Duty in mind. Through Control by Design, you would ensure risk is designed out and regulation designed in at the outset. We collaborate with colleagues in L&WC, and across BCB and Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) to improve controls, reduce risk, drive financial outcomes, and develop our product offerings, to benefit our clients, colleagues and shareholders. You'll have a track record of strong communication and influencing skills, thought leadership, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking Day to Day Responsibilities: This role is for a Change and Execution subject matter expert to lead and drive the Chief Controls Office (CCO) efforts within the L&WC platform, ensuring safe delivery of both ‘run the bank’ and ‘change the bank’ transformation, delivery of Control by Design ambitions, and opportunities to improve control environment, e.g. increase in preventative controls, automated controls and/or automated control monitoring. You'll with platforms leads, coordinate the efforts of the Managers in the team assigned to individual initiatives, as well as deputising for the Head of on Change matters where needed (across L&WC). You'll lead the CCO efforts for L&WC platform investment prioritisation ensuring planning includes regulatory obligations, Consumer Duty and opportunities to improve control environment. Act as a trusted control SME, ensure proactive identification of risks and mitigating actions for the L&WC platform strategy. Support and engage with broader control planning and business decision-making. Provide insight, control and thought leadership. Develop and maintain effective collaborations with partners across the Group including 2nd and 3rd line business partners on control related matters for L&WC with focus on Change related topics. Identify, monitor, and manage a wide range of activities ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitors risk and control parameters and identifies and reports deviation to senior colleagues while working within established risk management systems. Knowledge A strong understanding of Risk Management Framework and Change Policy, able to apply risk principles in practice—identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling, and mitigating risks. Awareness of BCB Lending & Working Capital products, propositions, and platform capabilities. Familiarity with data analytics techniques to assess the completeness and effectiveness of risk and control environments; understanding of AI is preferable.
