Key Considerations for Your Career Path

  • Essential Experience: This role requires proven experience within the marine industry. Experience with classification society plan appraisal is highly advantageous. A strong grasp of naval architecture principles and structural design is fundamental.
  • Educational Background: A Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering is the standard requirement. However, HND/HNC qualifications coupled with extensive relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Professional Recognition: Membership in a relevant professional institution (such as RINA or IMarEst) and either holding Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it is expected.
