The role

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The role involves designing and developing solutions, resolving design issues, and providing technical advice and governance.

Day-to-day, you’ll act as a point of contact for design-related issues and contributing to design reviews as well as resolving production and technical queries.

Allocating tasks and ensuring coordination among design teams. Promoting cooperation across teams and managing customer relationships. Advising on methods and tools, and assisting the design team. Preparing drawings in line with ISO standards. Developing innovative design solutions and leading low-risk projects. Maintaining knowledge of best practices and industry developments.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior Mechanical Designer

Experience in a detailed design environment Good knowledge of CAD tools Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice Breadth and depth of experience in a range of commercial or defence projects

Qualifications for the Senior Mechanical Designer

HNC minimum in a relevant discipline OR equivalent academic qualification
