JLR is a business undergoing a fundamental transformation. Corporate Affairs and Motorsport owns the communication strategy for the business, ensuring high quality, integrated and impactful communications to engage, align and influence across all stakeholders. That includes internal and external audiences – encompassing the effective management of JLR’s global corporate communication channels.

WHAT TO EXPECT

JLR Motorsport sits within the CEO/Corporate Affairs and Motorsport function of JLR and is responsible for the strategy, planning and delivery of successful motorsport activities across all brands where appropriate.

The Motorsport Team has recently expanded its remit through an exciting new international motorsport programme which will see Defender, the world’s most iconic and capable 4x4, compete in the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) from 2026, including the world’s most demanding off-road motorsport competition, Dakar Rally.

Reporting to the Global Communications and PR Manager, the Senior PR & Digital Officer will play a key role in executing a global communications strategy to engage motorsport and non-automotive audiences. Responsibilities include delivering media campaigns, crafting engaging content, driving storytelling, and managing analytics reporting. The role involves collaboration across JLR’s digital teams, requiring strong writing, presentation, and creative skills to stand out in a competitive digital landscape. Success will be measured by social analytics, engagement, and audience reach, ensuring impactful campaigns. Global travel will be an integral part of the role. Here's what to expect:

Support the delivery of a global earned-first communications strategy to support Defender’s new international motorsport programme. Assist in the creation of copy including press releases, media advisories, press packs, Q&A, statements, spokesperson briefs etc. Generate and tell positive stories that demonstrate value to Defender’s motorsport programme, JLR and JLR Motorsport reputation and brand health and help create market toolkits and provide support to market/global social teams Support with creating industry benchmark posts and assets that are compelling, impactful and innovative supporting the telling of our motorsport and brand stories and the ensuring successful delivery of the digital strategy across a global calendar. Create industry benchmark, impactful and innovative, communications that are aligned to the programme and brand positioning and assist in the creation of content including videos, race assets, graphics and photography. Work closely with the JLR digital stakeholders on community management of social media posts including replying in a timely manner to media and fan enquiries with a consistent approach and warm tone of voice Generate and tell positive stories that demonstrate value to corporate reputation and brand health as well as build a network of internal and external advocates to share and amplify JLR Motorsport and product stories

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Experience of managing sports/automotive global social media accounts on a daily basis, working with content creation platforms e.g. Adobe suite – Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro as well as social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and others. Skilled in multiple stakeholder management, especially working with internal and external stakeholders as well as managing agency resource. Skilled in project management, forward planning, project planning, organisation and prioritisation skills. Excellent written & verbal communications with high level of attention to detail with the ability to tell important technical stories in an engaging way. Experience in working at live events would also be advantageous. This role involves global travel, and you will be expected to attend international events every couple of months with trips generally lasting from 1-3 weeks at a time.
