This position involves leading complex investigations, mentoring junior analysts, and contributing to the enhancement of surveillance systems and processes. Job Description BUSINESS UNIT: Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) – Chief Controls Office LOCATION: London, Birmingham, Edinburgh HOURS: Full Time – 35 hours per week WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites shown above. ABOUT THE ROLE We currently have x4 openings for experienced Senior Trade Surveillance Analysts, to join the Chief Controls Office team! You’ll play a pivotal role in monitoring Lloyds Banking Group trading activity across multiple asset classes to detect potential market abuse and other regulatory breaches. You’ll review surveillance alerts, lead complex investigations, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of surveillance systems and processes. This is a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of our markets and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Surveillance & Investigation Review trade surveillance alerts for suspicious behaviour that may breach laws, regulations, or internal policies, and take appropriate action. Conduct ad-hoc deep-dive investigations into suspicious trading patterns and potential market manipulation. Maintain end-to-end oversight of the escalation process for suspicious alerts. Control Enhancement & Stakeholder Engagement Enhance surveillance processes by identifying issues, calibrating thresholds, and engaging with 1LOD and 2LOD to improve control effectiveness and efficiency. Work closely with Compliance and other stakeholders to respond to regulatory and exchange enquiries. Keep abreast of regulatory developments and emerging risks, updating surveillance plans and controls accordingly. Reporting & Analysis Produce management information and thematic analysis on alerts, trends, issues, and control effectiveness for Business Heads and Risk Committees. Leadership & Knowledge Sharing Mentor junior colleagues and act as a Trade Surveillance Subject Matter Expert, sharing product and surveillance knowledge across the team. WHAT YOU’LL NEED To be considered for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate: Technical & Regulatory Expertise Strong commercial experience working in trade surveillance. Comprehensive knowledge of FICC products. Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework, including Market Abuse rules and FCA principles. Desirable Skills Experience using Trading Hub. Previous Front Office or Operations experience.
