Job Description JOB TITLE: Senior iOS Software Engineer SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £104,686 - £123,610 LOCATION: London HOURS: 35 hours, full time WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. About this opportunity We’re looking for an iOS Software Engineering Team Manager to join our Segments & Propositions Digital Experience (SPDE) lab in London. Mass Affluent is the segment of customers with between £50,000 and £5 million in investable assets. As part of our London based team, you will lead an established mobile team evolving our Digital Channels (native mobile, web, Internet Banking). This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate who can provide hands-on engineering leadership and expertise to a full-stack mobile app team. You’ll be enthusiastic and experienced in designing and delivering scalable mobile applications API platforms. What will I be doing? Specialising in iOS, you’ll lead a full-stack feature team of mobile, API and quality engineers with a focus on predictable delivery and engineering excellence. Help embed and enhance our Software Engineering practices across the Lab whilst running key ceremonies like the Lab Engineering Chapter. Collaborate with fellow leads, solution architects, UI/UX designers, and product owners to define roadmaps, technical designs and unblock delivery. Demonstrate leadership for mobile architecture and API and micro-service design with deep knowledge in all aspects of iOS development. Provide line-management and personal development support for engineering team members. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers, encouraging a culture of improvement and innovation. Develops and/or delivers elements of a strategic planning system with guidance from senior colleagues. What you’ll need Proven experience in leading software engineering projects within large, distributed systems. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse teams on a shared vision. Professional hands-on experience and working knowledge in designing a mobile experience for variable screen sizes in variable versions of Android phones and tablets. Proven experience of modern application and software development approaches including automated testing, test driven development, continuous integration, pair programming, code review and version control. A “can-do” attitude, capability of bootstrapping projects and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal, and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle. Proficiency in Swift, as well as a strong knowledge in UI Kit and Swift UI Solid understanding of clean architecture, design patterns (MVVM) and principles (SOLID, DRY) Firm grasp of testing methodologies (Agile, Performance, Unit, Integration) and frameworks Experience designing and evolving RESTful API contracts. Confidence to express their own opinions and be pragmatic about modifying them when appropriate. Experience of successfully implementing and using CI/CD pipelines Display a DevOps approach and ability to use tools like Jenkins, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
