Main purpose of the post:
Support the day-to-day supervision, operations and administration of the College Shop’s services primarily at the Kensington Campus. Providing high quality customer-focused retail service to staff, students and external visitors.The day job as a Shop Supervisor :
To provide support, guidance and advice to students, staff and external visitors in the selection and use of art & design, basic construction and 3D making materials.Operate and supervise shop locations, including processing sales in person and fulfilling online orders.Supervise sales assistants and assist in the training & induction of new and/or temporary staff.Monitor stock levels and process orders for new stock. Unload, unpack and check incoming deliveries. Updating inventories and maintaining records of deliveries and completing financial administration tasks.Ensure high standards of safety and housekeeping at all times at shop locations. Arranging and maintaining effective and user-friendly displays of materials and products.Assist the Shop Manager in the sourcing of new materials and products, based on the user group needs at specific campus locations.Contribute to the development and creation of online product information, and other learning and promotional content.What you will need to have:
Considerable experience in retail services and business development.Significant knowledge and experience of materials used in art & design, and basic construction (such as wood and metal).Working experience of e-commerce platforms. Knowledge of inventory management and multi-channel sales.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The ability to use initiative and work as part of a team.Excellent organisational, time management, planning and problem-solving skillsExcellent user focus and a flexible approachWhy Join the RCA?
