You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.What youll do:Ensure proper supply orderingCoordinate meal production for restaurant and special dietary needs for patient mealsDownload daily menu productions on DRIVEComplete and record food/equipment temperature checks, in line with safe catering system, and report problemsMaintain stock at agreed levels to meet restaurant and patient needsManage patient meal delivery to ward areasAdhere to legislation and policies in the patient meal serviceReport incidents (accidents, fire, theft, etc.) to Catering Manager, and follow investigation actionsReport mechanical/electrical defects to Catering Manager and take unsafe equipment out of serviceTimely record service standards and retain secure records (e.g., temperature monitoring, raw material control)Compile work rosters, authorize annual leave, and manage unplanned absence coverage with Catering ManagerEnsure cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, utilizing staff as requiredEnsure staff training on the correct use of all kitchen machineryEnsure correct staff uniform is wornConduct routine Quality Control Audits and assess performance levelsAttend weekly meetings with Catering Manager and Host SupervisorAssist with administration duties and deputize for Managers when neededOrganize and compile staff training sessions with the Catering ManagerAssist in kitchen operationsthrough team management and service deliveryOrder provisions following Sodexo policy and suppliersEnsure kitchen and food service areas are clean and maintained, reporting issuesComplete Sodexo SMS paperwork (temperature checks, electrical checks, COSHH, HACCP)Pass internal and external audits (safeguard, EHO, Nuffield audits)Complete monthly billing and close accounts on timeComply with reasonable requests from the line manager within required time framesManage staff performance to ensure service excellence and quality deliveryTrain team members using Sodexo GREAT training cards, induction, and Nuffield trainingEnsure weekly rotas are completed on time and labor is managed within budgetPerform well under pressure, maintaining professionalism and resilienceBe a dedicated team player, striving for excellence and leading by exampleMaintain discretion while observing safeguarding and professional standardsMaintain a smart and professional appearance, representing the hospital positivelyManage emails and correspondence in a timely and professional mannerExhibit high accuracy and attention to detailBe self-motivated and work independentlyAdaptable and flexible with working patterns as neededWhat you bring:Good interpersonal skills and ability to be an effective team playerFlexible and able to work under pressureAt least 3 years experience in high volume cateringPrevious experience at Sous Chef level and shift leadershipExcellent culinary skillsHold valid ‘Intermediate Food Hygiene certificateNVQ Level 3 and Level 3 Food Safety Certificate (preferable)Excellent spoken and written EnglishStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsStrong leadership and communication skills with all stakeholdersGood IT skills, with knowledge of Word and ExcelHigh standards of personal presentationExperience with food allergies, special diets, and labelingWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; its a chance to be part of something greater.
