Do you want to join a dedicated and friendly team who support a wider strategic remit? The Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) Development team, part of Research and Innovation (R&I) supports academics in securing funding to deliver world-changing research and knowledge exchange, with a focus on major and strategic research bids. We do this by identifying, communicating and facilitating RKE development opportunities; by building a strategic RKE pipeline in collaboration with faculties; and by providing specialist knowledge, expertise and intelligence on our core funders to help focus our efforts and maximise RKE income.

The post is offered on a full time (36.25 hours per week), fixed term basis for 12 months.  Job share arrangements may be considered.The Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) Development team, part of Research and Innovation (R&I) supports academics in securing funding to deliver world-changing research and knowledge exchange, with a focus on major and strategic research bids.  We do this by identifying, communicating and facilitating RKE development opportunities; by building a strategic RKE pipeline in collaboration with faculties; and by providing specialist knowledge, expertise and intelligence on our core funders to help focus our efforts and maximise RKE income.This key role within the team focuses on the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) portfolio. Working with the Strategic Lead for UKRI and other Strategic RKE Development Managers, you will engage with UKRI stakeholders to understand their needs, represent the University in funding discussions, and develop a pipeline of activities and funding opportunities to ensure that high-quality bids are submitted to major funding opportunities.Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder management with UKRI and other funding bodies.- Build and maintain a pipeline of UKRI funding opportunities.- Communicate funding opportunities effectively across the institution.- Provide specialist knowledge, intelligence, and expertise on UKRI funding schemes.- Work closely with partners to develop high-quality bids for major funding opportunities.R&I provides comprehensive support throughout the research and innovation lifecycle, from first ideas through to commercialisation and industry partnerships.  The teams provide expert advice, RKE management infrastructure and support to ensure successful delivery of the University's research and knowledge exchange strategies.  This is an opportunity for you to join us and become part of a team which provides a comprehensive framework for the delivery of increased research performance across the University.We aspire to bring together enthusiastic, dedicated people, who are motivated to drive a step change in RKE performance.  If you have a good understanding of the research funding landscape and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, this may be the role for you.Further information is available in the role profile.
