Tableau Developer - VP

Citi are recruiting a Principal Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, to join the BI team for an internal compliance and surveillance line of business. You will be responsible for implementing Business Intelligence Reporting and Dashboard Solutions for Independent Compliance Risk Managers using BI tools like Tableau, Cognos etc. The role requires deep technical knowledge and expertise in software development, including programming languages, frameworks, and best practices. There will be responsibility for providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.Actively contributes to the implementation of critical features and complex technical solutions. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets the highest standards of quality.

Collaborate with other Principal Engineers to define and evolve the overall system architecture and design. Provide guidance on scalable, robust, and efficient solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices.

Offer expert engineering guidance and support to multiple teams, helping them overcome technical challenges, make informed decisions, and deliver high-quality software solutions. Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends. Evaluate their potential impact on the organization and provide recommendations for technology adoption and innovation.

Responsibilities:

Design & develop BI solutions using Tableau Dashboards with SQL Server/Oracle/Big Data technologies as a backend technology.Provide technical walk-throughs to various stakeholders Be able to work independently as well as within a teamWorks directly with end-users or a projects team to translate business requirements into technical specifications to drive Semantic layer and reportPrioritize technical issue resolution.Requirement gathering & understanding, effort estimation, technical design, project planning and monitoringUnderstand and analyze the data to find patterns and valuable business insightsRequired to review the day to day delivery work with the team, ensuring a robust process implementation, identifying project/program delivery risks and work on risk mitigation.Develop report prototypes and review and fine tune report deliverables with business usersTableau dashboard Performance optimizationAbility towrite complex SQL queriesfor reporting purpose.Partner with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvementsResolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standardsProvide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of BI and ensure BI design principles adheres to the overall architecture blueprintUtilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementationDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goalsProvide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

Mandatory Skills:

Relevant Experience in Business Intelligence & Data AnalyticsStrong Knowledge of Tableau (Tableau Desktop & Tableau Server)Strong experience in SQLGood Understanding of BI & DW Concepts

Qualifications:

Relevant experience in an Apps Development role or senior level experience in an Enterprise Architecture role with subject matter expert in one or more areas.Advanced features and knowledge on Tableau internalsExposure on Big Data connectivity with Tableau/CognosExperience on connecting API with Tableau serverIntegration of Tableau tool with R or PythonKnowledge of implementing chatbots with Tableau/CognosExperience with all the components of Tableau suite but not limited to Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep and Tableau ArchitectureMust have strong Experience in Tableau Development in Reports , dashboards and documentsAbility to create complex reports requiring multiple parameters, summarizing data with crosstabs, using sections and section underlay for groups, and related report functionsKnowledge of Shell Scripting Understanding of BI, ETL & DWH ConceptsGood understanding of SDLCRelevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis roleExtensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applicationsExperience in managing and implementing successful projectsSubject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications DevelopmentAbility to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictateDemonstrated leadership and project management skillsConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
