The job itself

The team at Holme-Upon-Spalding Moor Primary School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our forward-looking and friendly school community.

This full-time role will focus on providing one-to-one support for a Year 4 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and occasional challenging behaviour. A commitment to positive approaches for behaviour and interest in facilitating outdoor learning and how this supports the mental well-being of pupils is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to help them thrive.Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies that support the pupil's emotional and social well-being.Adapt and facilitate engaging activities that capture the pupil's interest and promote learning.Encourage the inclusion of the pupil within the wider classroom environment and support small groups of children as needed.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children with specific educational needs, particularly SEMH.Can build positive and nurturing relationships with children, motivating them to learn and grow.Treats all pupils with kindness, fairness, and dignity.Communicates effectively with parents and carers to support the child's development.Can identify and implement strategies to help children achieve their next steps in learning.Is interested in using outdoor learning and recognises the benefits of this.
