About the role
The holder of this role will primarily undertake the teaching, assessment and supporting administrative duties across a range of established modules related to international relations with a focus on security studies in the School of Politics and International Relations.
Working as part of a team you will be expected to plan and manage your own teaching in a variety of settings. You will need to identify students learning needs and ensure that your planned content, delivery methods and learning materials offer a clear path to the achievement of learning outcomes.
You will provide supervisory and first line support for undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and projects including collaborating with colleagues.
You will be expected to undertake any required training and to seek to continuously develop your understanding and knowledge in your field as well as developing your teaching skills.
About you
Essential skills for this role are:
• PHD, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area.
• High quality teaching expertise pertaining to the field of international relations with a focus on security studies.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex information clearly.

The post is offered on a full time, fixed term contract until 30 June 2026
