The School of Economics is recruiting two, full-time Teaching Associates to join the School for the academic year 2025/26. The posts will start in September 2025 and will continue for 12-months.
Applications are invited for the role of Teaching Associate based in the Nottingham School of Economics. The School is one of the UK’s premier research and teaching departments for economics, ranked 5th in the UK in IDEAS/RePEC, 5th in UK by Research Power in REF2022 and 6th in the UK by the Tilburg ranking of Economics Departments. We also rank 9th, by subject, in The Times UK University Rankings 2025.

About the role
As a Teaching Associate you will be expected to:
deliver innovative teaching for a range of classes in the Economics disciplineprepare assessments and conduct marking of examinations and courseworksupervise and examine undergraduate dissertationssupport tutorial groups, developing the group’s knowledge and learning skillscontribute positively and proactively to the teaching culture, especially considering issues of underrepresentationtake a proactive role in the pastoral support of students, dealing with sensitive issuesbe responsible for administrative dutiesAbout you
Candidates should have demonstrable previous teaching experience, including at Post Graduate Teaching Assistant level (or equivalent) as a minimum and they should have, or be demonstrably close to submitting, a PhD (or equivalent) in Economics. All teaching in the School is informed by research, and applicants should state their research interests in their application and identify which of the School’s Research Centres they would like to be attached to.
