About the Role

As a Team Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of qualified social workers and support staff, delivering high-quality services to children and young people who are permanently looked after. You will be responsible for:

Managing the effective deployment of the workforce and resources within budget.Ensuring timely and appropriate allocation of referrals and open cases.Promoting the voice of children, young people, families, and carers in service development.Providing supervision, development reviews, and training planning for staff.Driving the achievement of permanence for our Children Looked After.Auditing case records and assuring the quality of practice.Chairing multi-agency forums and case planning meetings.Ensuring effective multi-agency action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our Children Looked After.Investigating complaints in line with agreed procedures.Driving evidence-based practice and learning from research and national guidance.

This is a pivotal leadership role where your decisions and direction will directly impact the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

A qualified social worker (DipSW or equivalent) with post-qualifying training.Experienced in statutory childcare work, particularly with Children Looked After.Skilled in managing complex casework and leading teams.Confident in providing support and coaching to reporting staff.Knowledgeable about national legislation, guidance, and best practices.A confident communicator, able to build rapport and deliver clear information.A strategic thinker who can plan for future service improvements.Passionate about safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive outcomes.
