Technology External Assurance Analyst

Job Description: Technology External Assurance Analyst Contract: Hybrid – (1 day per week in office preferred) Location: Staines (TW18 3DZ) or Leeds (LS5 3BF) Permanent - Full time 37.5hours Salary range: £55,000– £65,000 (depending on experience & location) We consider all types of flexibility, including locations, hours and working patterns. The purpose of this role is to support assurance activities within BGIUK Technology External Assurance function for supplier requests, to deliver the works to key stakeholders aligned to defined OLAs and quality expectations, to arrange calls to key stakeholders and suppliers. The role holder will also deliver enhancements to BGIUK Technology External Assurance operations and ensure evolving expectations of supplier and customer assurance activities are maintained including partnering with other functions, both within Procurement, Commercial, Legal, Data Privacy, and the wider business. How you’ll help us make health happen: Execute the delivery of external assurance activities end to end including supplier information security due diligence reviews and evidence reviews as part of supplier onboarding and ongoing processes aligned to defined OLAs and operational expectations. Support Procurement teams as their information security subject matter expert for supplier assurance activities including presentations and calls with suppliers for clarification or review of materials. Report to Assurance Manager of BGIUK Technology External Assurance function including delivery, prioritisation of individual workload and quality review of the deliverables. Work with Procurement for supplier assurance requests to ensure documents required for due diligence are provided in a timely manner to ensure requests are correctly responded within defined OLAs. Develop and maintain content to improve the ongoing operation and delivery of BGIUK Technology External Assurance function, including internal knowledge base, whitepapers and metrics for operational activities. Identify and support the delivery of enhancements to operations based on industry trends; evolving customer and regulatory expectations; and experience, including the digitisation and automation of processes, documentation, and training & awareness. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Experienced in IT external assurance, IT risk and control assessment, or related fields. Proven experience in carrying out IT security control assessments with skills in cyber and information security risks with ability to evaluate effectiveness of IT controls. Excellent communication and influencing skills to drive discussions with key stakeholders and suppliers to provide insights. Experience of third party assurance activities, either for supplier or customer assurance. Extensive knowledge of IT risk management within GRC function, preferably processes, concepts, terminology and control frameworks e.g. ISACA, COBIT, ITIL. Certified in CISA or relevant certifications with one of the following: CISM, CISSP, equivalent experience. Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards e.g. UK GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST. Great attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently, manage time and workload effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in systems, preferably O365 and Service Now. Experience of managing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) within the function for effectiveness measurement of operational activities.
