<div><div><div><p><strong>Grade: </strong>K<strong><br>Contract Type: </strong>Permanent (Full-Time)<br><strong>Shift patterns: </strong>Monday to Friday, working between the hours of 7am-7pm - 42hr week.<br><strong>Location: Birmingham, B46 1TT</strong></p> <p>DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily logistics requirements. To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive knowledge of supply chain supervisory practices and a demonstrative understanding of warehouse procedures, including storing goods, dispatching orders and tracking transportation vehicles. </p> <p><strong>WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee the management of drivers and assistants, ensuring that each team member receives the necessary training and tools to perform their duties effectively while maintaining compliance at all times.</li> <li>Monitor and enhance both individual and site performance, ensuring adherence to established processes and the achievement of contractual KPIs.</li> <li>Take responsibility for the legal and efficient execution of transport operations, serving as the named CPC holder on the operator license.</li> <li>Maintain service schedules and ensure all O license commitments are fulfilled, addressing any defects promptly and ensuring that vehicles out of service (VOR) are kept off the road until resolved.</li> <li>Coordinate staff training by assessing the training needs of drivers and assistants, ensuring all employees are proficient in using the tools, equipment, and vehicles relevant to their roles.</li> <li>Manage operational costs and analyze cost performance trends, such as fuel efficiency and accident rates.</li> <li>Supervise a team of approximately 100 individuals and manage a fleet of around 50 vehicles.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What We Require From You:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 2 years of practical experience as a Transport Supervisor in a logistics environment.</li> <li>Familiarity with Working Time Legislation and EU driving regulations.</li> <li>Strong influencing and leadership abilities.</li> <li>Proficient in computer use, with practical experience in logistics software such as Key 2 and Tachomaster preferred.</li> <li>Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the capability to supervise, organize, and train direct reports.</li> <li>CPC qualification is essential.</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHY CHOOSE US?</strong></p> <p>As well as competitive pay rates, you will be entitled to an award-winning range of benefits including:</p> <ul> <li>Free confidential 24/7 GP service</li> <li>Hundreds of discounts (including retail, childcare + gym)</li> <li>Affordable loans & enhanced pension scheme</li> <li>24/7 employee support service for you (+ family) with access to free counselling and much more: <a href="https://careers.dhl.com/global/en/dsc-benefits">https://careers.dhl.com/global/en/dsc-benefits</a></li> </ul> <p><strong>OUR APPROACH TO DIVERSITY & INCLUSION</strong></p> <p>We will ensure that all our resourcing activities are fair, transparent and consistent across the UK.
