The role As a Type 31 Head of Ship Build Structures, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The role will safely deliver the schedules to cost and the desired quality standards. Visible leadership, team working, and growth focus are key within this role particularly as the Arrowhead orderbooks expands.

Day-to-day, you’ll create, develop and maintain a team that provides ship block and ship assembly activities in support of multiple ship building programmes. You will also:

Manage and regularly review the organisation competency framework ensuring the teams have the capacity, competence and skills to allow delivery of programme schedules. Review of pipeline activities to understand future demands. Drive a Quality learning culture, recognising Best Practice and ensuring continuous implementation of improvement ideas. Responsible for enabling and developing improved productivity across ship building operations. Build and maintain effective liaison with supporting functions within the programme.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.

Essential experience of the Type 31 Head of Ship Build Structures

Demonstrable experience in project/programme delivery at a senior management level Leadership and change management in multi discipline environment. Good understanding/experience of working in Shipbuilding/Engineering Comprehensive understanding of working in a progammised environment. A comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and major project sectors.

Qualifications for the Type 31 Head of Ship Build Structures

Relevant degree (or equivalent experience) Membership of a recognised professional institution

Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
