Valuation Control Senior Group Manager - Design & Execution Lead

Team/Role Overview

We are seeking an outstanding candidate for a Director position working in the Design & Execution (D&E) team within the Valuation Control Group (VCG) which is part of Finance Controllers organization. This role is critical and influential in helping shape and drive process and technology change across the group.

The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is a cornerstone of Citi Controllers. VCG is responsible for the independent valuation control of Citis traded inventory, as well as other areas where fair value principles need to be applied, such as PRA/ECB Prudent Valuation requirements. The group is organized into global product aligned teams and specialised functions such as Reporting, Valuation Methodology & International, and Design & Execution (D&E).

The VCG Design & Execution team is primarily responsible for defining and implementing the Firms vision of a best-in-class Valuation Control function.

What youll do
Leading a global team of 10+ individuals that will focus on delivering an extensive book of work across the Derivatives Independent Price Verification (IPV) workstreamPartnering with Technology to deliver the right infrastructure tools and solutions aligned to both the Valuation Control vision and best in class Finance directionAppropriately assessing risks and issues related to the projects and ensuring timely and effective escalationStakeholder management covering senior leaders within VCG, senior technology partners and internal and external auditorsCreating ideas and insight of how the Valuation Control process can be improved, simplified and operate more effectivelyManage the delivery of business requirements, user-acceptance testing and implementation for Valuation Control programmes, in line with Citi documentation standards

Excellent communication and influencing skills are vital. The candidate will need to draw on experience and will require the ability to clearly articulate principles and methodologies to a variety of audiences including senior internal stakeholders and to find creative solutions to issues as they arise. It is key that strong relationships are established and maintained in order to deliver the common vision and goal.

The role also involves working with the Senior Valuation Control Managers across all regions ensuring global consistency. The role will assist with leading innovation across the group and therefore the successful candidate must possess resilience, tenacity and have a desire and passion to succeed in a fast moving, dynamic and forward looking environment.

Champions Progress:

Support change management design, development, delivery and management of communicationsLead roll out changes with key stakeholdersAct as point for leaders within Valuation Control, helping them fulfil the role of change sponsor

Works as a Partner:

Working alongside the broader VCG team to design and implement a Best In Class Finance functionGenerate a strong partnership with Technology to deliver business tools and solutions to support Valuation Control functionActing as a partner across Finance and to the other key stakeholders (Business, Risk, Compliance, Technology, etc.) in relation to Valuation Control change initiativesHelp manage stakeholder engagement by identifying and managing anticipated resistance and any obstacles

What well need from you
Proven Finance experience, ideally with broad Product Control and IPV experienceProven ability and experience of leading change across a number of different teams / stakeholdersExperience in business analyst role for complex system implementation projectsKnowledge of the software development lifecycleExtensive experience at senior levels within valuation or risk control departments, involved with technical valuation, regulatory/audit & governance issuesProven multi-discipline, cross-product knowledgeFamiliarity with advanced data tools (e.g. Python etc) may be an advantageExtensive people management experience

Skills:

Strong planning & organisational skillsExcellent analytical skillsExcellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with a range of senior/junior staff across a number of disciplinesStakeholder managementSelf-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed informationConfident ability to achieve objectives via working with and influencing othersExcellent leadership and people management
