Workday Payroll Specialist

Join GSK UK Payroll team as a Workday Payroll Specialist and play a key role in delivering timely, accurate and compliant payroll services for our UK employees. You will own end-to-end monthly payroll processing using Workday, support payroll reconciliations and statutory reporting, and work closely with internal teams and our third‑party payroll provider to maintain excellent payroll service and strong controls. Key responsibilities Process end‑to‑end monthly payrolls for UK employees in Workday, ensuring pay accuracy and on‑time payments. Follow the payroll run plan and coordinate day‑to‑day activities with the UK payroll team. Execute third‑party payroll payments and manage relationships with payroll service providers (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Paychex). Ensure compliance with UK tax and social security regulations, statutory filings and year‑end reporting. Perform payroll reconciliations, validations and SOX control activities in line with our governance framework. Respond to and resolve payroll queries from employees and stakeholders with a customer‑service mindset. Support payroll projects, system enhancements, process improvements and audits. Maintain and update payroll SOPs, calendars and documentation to ensure deadlines are met and knowledge is shared. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline payroll operations and improve ways of working. Basic Qualifications We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals: UK payroll processing experience, ideally within a multinational environment. Proven experience using Workday and Workday Payroll. Experience working with third‑party payroll providers (ADP, Ceridian, Paycheck or similar). Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Customer‑focused approach with a high sense of urgency. Strong command of English.
