Job Description: Remote Young Persons Counsellor / Psychotherapist BACP Accredited / NCS Accredited membership Nationwide â Remote Salary: Up to £34,900 based on full-time hours. Part-time hours available pro rata. Permanent Our Accredited Counsellors work 8-hour shifts between 8am and 8pm, including weekends as required, to manage a caseload of telephone counselling clients. Job Purpose As a Remote Young Persons Counsellor / Psychotherapist, you will provide high-quality, effective, and safe remote counselling to Bupa customers aged 11 to 17 years old, over the short, medium, or longer term. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality counselling or brief interventions with children and adolescents, demonstrating excellent clinical outcomes. Deliver comprehensive assessments and formulations to drive evidence-based interventions, ensuring thorough assessments determine the most appropriate care pathway for the client and their family. Offer different models of service delivery, including telephone or video consultations, based on client preference. Communicate effectively with key agencies and systems around the child, such as schools, colleges, local authorities, parents, and carers. Adhere to Bupa case management processes and collaborate with Clinical Leads and the wider therapy team. Follow sessional limits based on the client allowance as determined by their company benefits. Comply with local and national policies and guidance on safeguarding children and adults, being sensitive to unique safeguarding concerns regarding children and consent. Conduct risk assessments and management planning, with support from the senior clinical leadership team as needed. Provide signposting or onward referrals when required. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa service policies and procedures. Attend regular clinical supervision, both individual and group, and monthly team meetings to support clinical practice, in line with Bupa and professional body guidelines. Offer ad-hoc or one-off wellbeing support and coaching as needed. Conduct one-off assessments and referral recommendations when required. Collaborate with the operational and clinical team to identify ways to improve client and employee experiences. Essential Qualifications BACP Accredited membership or NCS Accredited membership. A minimum of 450 supervised counselling hours. 3 years full-time post-qualification counselling experience. 2+ years of general child and adolescent mental health experience. Desirable Qualifications Training in incident support. Corporate experience and business understanding. Key Skills & Experience Specialism in general child and adolescent mental health. Proficiency in IT skills, including Microsoft Systems and electronic medical record systems. Ability to evaluate, plan, and prioritize workload within demanding time scales. Proven experience in customer service and client liaison. Excellent application of clinical knowledge. Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Professional and personal drive. Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and self-sufficient. Ability to respond rapidly and decisively. Excellent team player. Strong problem-solving capability. Experience managing own caseload, working towards individual targets and outcomes. Maintaining time boundaries and efficient diary management, working towards utilization targets.
