Job Description Manufacturing Laboratory Technologist – NDT Level III – Turbine Systems Rotherham An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Advanced Blade Casting Facility (ABCF) in Rotherham. In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on our manufacturing assets, machinery and all the associated production equipment located at the production, assembly and test facilities. The ABCF is a Rolls-Royce casting facility located at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham. Role Description In this role you will be the point of contact for the technical control of NDT & special inspection processes for the Advanced Blade Casting Facility, at a time where we are going through a significant and exciting phase of growth to meet rising OE and Services demand. You will ensure compliance to processes & standards; control & develop NDT processes required to support the manufacture of components; and ensure the engineering specifications are satisfied for new part introduction and ongoing manufacture. We’re looking for a high calibre individual who has NDT Level III experience, can bring new thinking, and personifies the company behaviours. Key Accountabilities In this exciting role, you will be accountable to: Lead and develop the NDT community in support of Technical Control of NDT for ABCF in Rotherham. Ensure technical control of NDT activities in line with requirements of GQP, RPS, RRP and external customer specifications. Introduce, update, and approve NDT technical instructions in support of the control of NDT processes / part specific technical packages. Maintain Level 3 approvals in NDT methods relevant to the department, either by Examination or credit system. Co-ordinate internal / external NDT Audits in line with company requirements Lead Nadcap special process audits and support other site audits where required. Support new & maintain current control approvals for all NDT Inspectors / operators in accordance with RPS915 for the Rotherham site. Maintain a network with NDT suppliers, sub-contractors, and company Level IIIs. To be aware of technical advancements within NDT that could be used within Turbine Systems business unit. To ensure compliance with all Company, Turbine Systems and Site policies, practices and procedures including Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and company Quality manuals. Please be aware that the priority will be given to employees identified as being at high risk. The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Staff Grade 7-10.
