As an ALM Transformation – Model Controls AVP you will be responsible for providing assurance reviews over controls across model lifecycle processes for the business. You will lead on executing model governance and controls related activities.

You will work closely alongside our Independent Validation Unit team by back testing models and collating these results for the IVU team. Implementing model standards in line with new regulations. Reading model validation documents and manage any audit requirements within the business area.

To be considered for this role you could move across from various backgrounds including but not limited to audit, model validation or ALM positions. Ability to work as part of a team and add value to the development of the ALM function with a strong understanding of banking / financial services.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Purpose of the role

To safeguard the financial health of the bank by identifying, analysing, and mitigating potential credit risks associated with lending activities.

Accountabilities

Analysis of financial data, including income, assets, liabilities, credit history, and economic trends, to determine the risk of default.Monitoring of existing loan portfolios to identify potential credit deterioration or early warning signs of default.Recommendation of loan approvals, rejections, or adjustments based on risk evaluation and bank lending policies.Development and implementation of credit risk mitigation strategies, including collateral management, loan restructuring, and workout plans.
