The School of Pharmacy is seeking a friendly, engaging, enthusiastic individual with excellent customer service and IT skills and a keen eye for detail to join our administrative support team. You will be a motivated team player and will join our proactive and supportive operations team who are committed to the smooth and efficient running of the School.
This post is offered on a fixed term contract until 31 July 2026. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
The role will provide reception services in the School and work closely with academic and administrative colleagues to support the enhancement of the student experience. The successful candidate will also be the first point of contact for queries relating to one of the five divisions in the School. You will be a friendly and customer-focussed individual who is able to deal with resolving problems and answering queries quickly and effectively. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills gained in a busy administrative environment and be able to remain calm under pressure. You’ll be committed to establishing high standards of customer service and be experienced at meeting deadlines and juggling competing priorities, therefore previous experience of working in a busy office environment where you have demonstrated a proactive approach to your work is vital.
The role itself is varied, and you’ll be liaising with a wide range of stakeholders across the School of Pharmacy. You will work to support other team members within the operations team, dealing confidently with a wide range of enquiries representing the School on reception.
A high level of IT skills will be required, including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications and you will have the ability to work accurately under pressure whilst prioritising your own work activities in response to differing needs and demands.
Due to the nature of the role, the role holders will spend part of their time on Campus, blending this with some remote working.
