The Admissions Officer plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient admission process at the Cromwell Hospital. They are responsible for coordinating and processing inpatient, day-case, outpatient procedure bookings and admissions. Ensuring accurate data entry, verifying insurance details, and delivering a high standard of customer service to patients and their families. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to hospital policies, and effective communication with various stakeholders, including patients, consultants, and insurance companies. Youâll help us make health happen by: Respond to all inbound calls efficiently, providing high-quality service to patients, relatives, consultants, secretaries, and internal teams. Attend daily bed meeting, updating the bed board and ensuring accurate communication of bed status across departments. Process inpatient, day-case and outpatient procedure bookings received from consultants and their teams, ensuring all relevant details are accurately recorded in the hospital system. Confirm bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling with patients and medical secretaries, ensuring they are well-informed. Collaborate with teams across the hospital; Endoscopy, Angio, Theatres to coordinate bookings, considering surgical length, equipment, and consultant preferences. Work closely with Site Leads and Reception to manage late or unscheduled admissions and last-minute cancellations. Allocate patient rooms effectively and support the multi-disciplinary team in bed management. Schedule Pre-Admission clinic appointments and address any patient queries. Capturing all patient information and checking demographic information is correct, checking patient financial coverage along with obtaining credit card information. Conduct daily admission and theatre checks to ensure all booking details are correct and up to date. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Previous experience in a hospital admissions, reservations, finance, or customer service role is preferred. Telephone experience Excellent communication skills Organisational skills Attention to detail Able to work on own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
