We are seeking to recruit a part-time for 15 hours per week Archive Assistant / Administrator to join our Design Archives team based at Grand Parade.
This post has a key responsibility in the Design Archives team for providing administrative and curatorial support to the Design Archives collections and team across the range of its activities.
The role works closely with all members of the team: Archive Director, Preservation & Digital Resources Co-ordinator and Digital Content and Systems Co-ordinator. You’ll also liaise with various internal contacts including School Operations and Research teams, Finance and Estates, as well as contributing to collections activities, such as documentation and collections care, and supporting our research services and teaching sessions. Responsibilities in this post include departmental administration, supporting research activities, contributing to the Design Archives operations, and assisting with collections activities.
To be effective in the role you will need:
Demonstrable knowledge/experience of working in an archives or collections settingStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build networks and maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally The ability to work on own initiative and flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team High level analytical, organisation and problem-solving skills Working knowledge of using databases for recording dataDue to the post being part time, we cannot offer job-share for this role.
The role will be based at Design Archives, City Campus and will be fully onsite working.
