Weâre looking for a hands-on, people-focused Assistant Engineering Manager for our Aldershot depot, supporting a fleet of over 72 vehicles across Hampshire and Surrey. What youâll be doing As Assistant Engineering Manager, youâll play a central role in ensuring our fleet is clean, safe, and road ready. Working alongside the Engineering Manager, youâll lead and support a diverse team of skilled colleagues, including Engineers, Technicians and Cleaners, creating a positive environment where people thrive. Youâll manage day-to-day garage operations, ensure compliance with legal and Stagecoach standards, and keep our engineering processes running smoothly and efficiently. Leading and motivating your team to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles Scheduling and prioritising vehicle maintenance and servicing activities Supporting team development, identifying training needs and fostering continuous improvement Quality checking vehicles after maintenance to ensure high standards are met Upholding health, safety and environmental standards in line with legislation and Stagecoach policy What weâre looking for Relevant engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical and bodywork knowledge Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant engineering field (mechanical or automotive) Experience managing or supervising a workshop or technical team, and a strong understanding of PCV operations Strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory standards A people-centred approach to leadership, with strong communication and influencing skills Ability to plan, analyse, and make confident decisions in a dynamic environment Why join Stagecoach?
