The University of Worcester is seeking Associate Lecturers able to offer cover as Medical Education Facilitators (MEFs) to join its expanding Medical School
As an Associate Lecturer MEF you might be asked to stand in as a facilitator for problem-based learning (PBL) where you will provide small group facilitation for medical students, who meet in small groups to explore and discuss authentic clinical case scenarios. Or you might be asked to stand in as a tutor for integrated clinical methods (ICM) supporting the student’s development of clinical and communication skills. You will also need to undertake the necessary preparation for facilitating small group work and tutorials, as well as assessing student progress, providing constructive and timely feedback. PBL facilitators may also act as the students Personal Academic Tutors (PAT) providing student academic guidance, mentorship and pastoral support.
PBL Facilitators meet with groups of students on Mondays and Fridays, ICM runs on Tuesdays and Thursday.
NB. If you are successful at interview, you will be invited to join a pool of sessional lecturers, and we will contact you if suitable work becomes available. We are not able to guarantee employment as it will be subject to student numbers and staff vacancy. The number of hours available might only be a few hours per week.
