WHAT TO EXPECT
As a Battery Process Engineer, you will work in the Battery assembly team, supporting pioneering electrification developments in support of the JLR high profile range of exciting electric vehicles. You will be at the fore front of developing new, technologically advanced, electric propulsion systems.
The team is responsible for the development and introduction of industry leading processes and facilities incorporating state of the art manufacturing technologies. You will be working closely with Product Development Engineers and suppliers to ensure that Battery system designs meet world class quality and efficiency standards.
Based at our Whitley site, you will also regularly work at other JLR sites in the West Midlands depending on the current project. You will also have the opportunity to periodically travel to other European countries to work alongside technology leading suppliers.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• You will utilise your knowledge to develop and implement assembly and in-process test processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality delivery and cost objectives • Assembly process & equipment verification at suppliers and at manufacturing facility • Support the resolution of technical issues where appropriate • Planning, developing and implementation of all written Processes for manufacturing • Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• Previous experience of Manufacturing / Engineering processes, tools and techniques • Hands on approach to engineering • Candidates should be self-motivated with sound Engineering, communication skills, ideally with experience within volume manufacturing • Experience of facility installation, project management, capability validation, commissioning and product launch • Ability to work within cross-functional teams and flexibility to support projects from early concepts to Launch • Ideally educated HNC / HND level in Manufacturing Systems or a similar engineering discipline. However, candidates with relevant experience will also be considered
