Job Title: Ben & Jerry UK Brand Manager Location: Kingston Work-Level: 2A JOB PURPOSE Ben & Jerry was founded in 1978 in a renovated gas station in Burlington Vermont, USA by childhood friends & dedicated activists Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield. They took a $5 correspondence course in ice cream making from Penn State University and began their business making the finest quality ice cream with big chunks and swirls. RESPONSIBILITIES The role of Ben & Jerry's Brand Manger includes the leadership, development and implementation of Ben & Jerry's brand activities in the UK. The role is supported by and works closely with, the local Ben & Jerry UK Team and Ben & Jerry's EU team, to deliver marketing activities to grow the Ben & Jerry's business and meaningfully connect with Fans in the UK. In particular, these are: Together with the Country Business Leader (CBL), lead the UK brand strategy and development of the marketing programs ensuring alignment with global marketing initiatives, and social mission objectives. Develop and manage the existing in home and AFH portfolio to achieve long-term growth, sales and profit goals, specifically leading how the brand can enter new formats and channels. Lead communication plans across multiple channels (Digital, TV, Outdoor, Cinema, PR etc) working with multiple agencies and internal experts to drive connections with fans and B&J cultural relevancy. Specifically, this person will take up the mantle of B&J being the digital pioneer in the UK Ice Cream business and working with our global digital team, continue to push forward our digital learning and execution. Utilize the reporting of financial and consumer data, competitive intelligence, and consumer research to achieve business insights and facilitate local marketing program development and local specific flavour opportunities. Work with the sales team to identify new IH distribution and merchandising opportunities for existing and new products and provide recommendations on promo planning and shopper activation to deliver triple-win for B&J, our fans and our retailers. Utilize systems, processes (e.g. S&OP, IPM) and communication/reporting methods for project management of new launches, budgets, volume forecasting and marketing programs Exhibit commitment to the company social mission and Marketing's vital role in delivering all three elements of Ben & Jerry's three-part mission statement Manage relationships with key external partners (e.g. Mindshare) Manage effective budget forecasting and control and develop effective post-program analysis Lead for the UK Ice Cream Team one cross-category initiative e.g. Customer Summer Sell-in plan Contribute to the development of direct reports through effective coaching and advocating for appropriate training opportunities ALL ABOUT YOU Degree or equivalent preferred relevant experience in product management (including product launch, volume planning, business case development, customer sell-in) and developing and executing marketing programs in multiple communication platforms. Excellent competencies in marketing, digital, program development and implementation. Must be a strategic thinker with strong financial acumen who is comfortable applying insights and articulating them to stakeholders. Strong digital affinity and clear, robust digital marketing experience. Must have strong influence and negotiation skills and be comfortable interacting with a matrix organisation of internal B&J and UL stakeholders and to external customer teams. Excellent project management skills, and experience in leading project teams and outside agencies. A creative eye with a keen sense for consumers and understanding of how to turn insight into action. Organization & Communication Skills- working closely with media agencies and stakeholders to deliver plans and projects. Stakeholder management- as the âcenter pointâ for all the brand in the UK, must have the ability and confidence to work as the catalyst for seamless operations across several different stakeholders.
