Job Description CRDM Section Leader - Submarines Full Time Derby Why Rolls-Royce? You will also be responsible for implementing world class processes which meet business and customer requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery and set the standard for the next generation of submarines design. What you will be doing: As a CRDMs Design Engineer, you will be involved with the following: Lead a small team to deliver Key technical outputs balancing cost and quality. Responsible for generating the design justification that support the design requirements and safety case. Translating design requirements into component definition to enable manufacturing both in PCO and the supply chain. Working very closely with producibility to understand manufacturing constraints and apply DfX to the parts to come to the optimal solution. Define and support testing programmes to validate the CRDM design requirements for proof of concept to in-service. Develop close working relationships with the KTP to understand the technology insertion to in great depth. Forge relationships with dependencies to ensure on-time delivery of projects to Control Account Manager and Project Leads to deliver on our promises. To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria: The candidates shall have as a minimum MEng/BEng in mechanical engineering or related discipline and relevant experience. Understanding of the Rolls Royce design process including codes and standards. Experience in generating reports to capture design logic and solutions. It is desirable for the candidate to possess a general experience/awareness of: Definition creation and GD&T. Manufacturing processes including an appreciation of inspection method. Application of analytical methods within design. Testing experience. Basic task planning and management Safety Case structure and/or drafting.
