The role As a Capability Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Submarine Operations Centre is a key capability delivered by a joint Babcock and Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) team. It leverages their combined knowledge, experience, and evolving digital tools to enhance the management of submarine maintenance requirements and the design of maintenance projects, supporting effective operations by waterfront project and delivery teams.

Day-to-day, you’ll be embedded with the SDA’s Submarine Platform Managers as a technical problem solver to ensure smooth delivery to the client.

Provide and present complex programme and engineering data analysis to enable collaborative decision-making, driving enterprise performance improvement Lead critical Submarine Operations Centre planning and co-ordination activities, identifying issues and actions affecting certainty of delivery of the submarine programme Provide critical advice to key stakeholders whilst being supported by Project and Engineering teams conducting key engineering and programme analysis

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home. You'll be required to travel to Plymouth, Devon occasionally.

Essential experience of the Capability Manager

Knowledge of submarine in-service support arrangements Proven senior stakeholder management experience Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out Experience in a project management position Ability to champion high performance and inspire others

Qualifications for the Capability Manager

A bachelor’s degree in engineering / project / construction management or equivalent experience Chartership or demonstrated route to chartership in project management or engineering
