Centre Co-ordinator for The Brunel Centre (ED

Job at University of Bath in Bath, Bath and North East Somerset, BA2

We are looking for a pro-active and self-motivated co-ordinator to take a leading role in managing the activities of the Brunel Centre.

About us

The Brunel Centre formally launched in April 2025, backed by a multi-million-pound investment from Research England, we’re a partnership between the University of Bath, UWE Bristol, and Futures West.

Our mission is to provide the data, research, and insights to help local leaders and businesses make smarter decisions - driving sustainable and inclusive economic growth across the West of England.

From boosting productivity and innovation to supporting key sectors like clean energy and digital tech, we’re shaping a stronger, more resilient regional economy.

Join us and be part of a team that’s making devolution work and creating real impact for communities across the region.

About the role

This is a varied and interesting role which encompasses a wide range of different tasks supporting the Centre Director and working alongside the Centre Manager to help deliver the aims and objectives of the Brunel Centre by providing a comprehensive administrative and financial service; this will include diary management and meeting organisation, organising events, co-ordinating the production of newsletters and marketing materials, collating data, making travel arrangements, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and acting as the primary point of contact for queries to the Brunel Centre.

About you

To make a success of this post you will be a good team player who also enjoys working independently and taking initiative. You will have excellent administrative abilities and problem-solving skills, including experience of supporting committees and capacity to manage a varied workload whilst meeting strict deadlines. You will be highly organised, confident dealing with data, with great attention to detail. You will have excellent spoken and written English with the ability to write clearly and concisely, and will be proficient in using IT.

You will be able to use your knowledge and initiative to manage and prioritise effectively the requirements of the role. Effective and professional liaison with internal and external contacts is an integral part of the role and so a need for tact and discretion and an ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.

Previous experience within the HE sector is desirable but not essential. Skills in the use of University specific software, particularly Agresso, will be an added advantage. However, an interest in the work of the Brunel Centre and a willingness to become fully involved in the project is equally important.

Additional information

This is a fixed-term position expected to end March 2030. However, part of the ambition of the Centre is to secure long term financial sustainability so there could be scope for extension in the future.
