Job Description Job Title: Chief Project Engineer - Future Combat Technologies Working Pattern: Full time - Hybrid Working location: Bristol What you will be doing As Chief Project Engineer for Future Combat Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative propulsion solutions into the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) – a high-profile, fast-paced initiative that will define the future of military air capability. This is a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge engineering activity at the forefront of UK defence, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities You’ll be leading the technical delivery of a strategically important defence programme: Managing and delivering engineering work packages to meet cost, quality, and schedule targets Acting as delegate for the Chief Engineer, providing governance across all engineering activities Leading systems engineering activity and driving integration across cross-functional teams Defining and controlling technical requirements, risk, and change management processes Supporting the development and implementation of product safety strategies throughout the lifecycle Why Rolls-Royce? Degree-level qualification in engineering or equivalent industry experience At least 7 years’ experience managing complex engineering projects or programmes Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering to cost, schedule, and quality targets Strong systems engineering expertise with experience in managing technical requirements and risk Membership of a professional engineering body and working towards or holding Registered Project Professional (RPP) status or equivalent Join us & help Rolls-Royce to become a high-performing, competitive, resilient business.
